Widening subnational civic spaces, safeguarding constitutional freedoms, and mobilizing CSOs for accountable local governance across Nepal.
In partnership with CIVICUS and national democratic networks, IGD champions fundamental civic freedoms under Article 17 of Nepal's Constitution. Through 7 provincial dialogues (Biratnagar, Bardibas, Chitwan, Pokhara, Butwal, Surkhet, Dhangadhi) and national summits, IGD convened parliamentarians, mayors, CSOs, and media to establish the 15-point National Declaration for an open civic ecology.
