A passionate network of dedicated volunteers working tirelessly on the ground.

Established in 2000 as an independent non-governmental organization, IGD works at grassroots and policy levels to make democracy meaningful for all citizens.
Through two decades of dedicated service across Nepal's seven provinces, IGD has mobilized over 14,000 community members in constitutional dialogues, trained hundreds of municipal judicial committees and community mediators, and generated authoritative empirical research on federal decentralization.

IGD focuses on interconnected pillars of democratic governance, access to justice, civic space protection, and grassroots empowerment.

We believe sustainable societal transformation requires an interlinked combination of knowledge production, citizen competence building, and institutional advocacy.
We foster constructive intercultural and state-citizen dialogues as essential tools for resolving disputes and building durable social peace.
